Our Sponsors

It has been tough on local businesses over the last number of years, yet they always manage to find the cash, products or services to keep Seafest going year after year. Our sponsors are important to us and sometimes they don’t receive the recognition they deserve. There are literally dozens of businesses that contribute to the event. For some it’s a small product donation for a derby prize, and for others it’s thousands of dollars in cash and products that are graciously given for a specific event or activity. Whatever the contribution, we know that local businesses are the backbone of Seafest and without them, well, let’s just say, things wouldn’t be quite the same!

Cole Ford, Liverpool

Cole Ford, Liverpool

Cole Ford Sales, Liverpool – What can you say about Wayne and Jean Cole and everyone at Cole Ford. Cole Ford Sales have been with us from the start. Not only are they major sponsors of Queens County Seafest, but are major participants as well. Their involvement in the ‘Row for Charity’, the Shark Fishing Derby and other events goes far beyond any financial contribution they make. Wayne, his family and staff shuttle visitors to Seafest, purchase and sell tickets for events and volunteer hours of their time to make Seafest better!

Vernon d’Eon Lobster Plugs, West Pubnico – Fishermen in South West Nova Scotia have come to rely on Vernon d’Eon for high quality fishing gear and equipment. The company is a major sponsor of our Shark Fishing Derby contributing thousands of dollars over the last several years in fishing rods and other gear to derby winners. The company also provides a vital retail service at Seafest for fishermen requiring rods, reels, line and other gear during the event.

The Region of Queens, Liverpool – A special thanks to the Municipality of Queens, Mayor John Leefe and the Council, for all of their financial support over the years. Your continued support of Queens County Seafest is greatly appreciated.

A.P. Reid Insurance, Dartmouth – Looking for car or home insurance in Queens County? Your A.P. Reid broker in the region is George Mitchell Insurance, Liverpool. Thank you George and A.P. Reid for your financial support over the last number of years. We hope we can count on your support in the years to come!

Best Western, Liverpool – Community involvement is important to the Best Western. The management and staff of the Best Western Liverpool have assisted Seafest organizers on many occasions with discounts, free accommodation and meeting rooms and other services. Your support is much appreciated (and a big thanks for allowing our Seafest Committee to meet every month at the hotel for the last several years)!

Destination South West Nova Scotia – As the largest tourism association in the region we thank you for recognizing the importance of Queens County Seafest to the local travel industry. Your generous financial and promotional support over the years have greatly assisted the marketing of this event across the province.

The Department of Fisheries & Oceans – It is unlikely the Shark Fishing Derby at Seafest would be possible without the co-operation and scientific input of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Thank you for making the derby a reality and thank you for providing the professional and scientific staff we always need for this great community event.

Mersey Point Fish Products, Port Mouton – We are all familiar with the Solomon Gundy and other herring products made at Mersey Point Fish Products. What you may not know is the number and variety of other products manufactured at their fish plant in Port Mouton. The salmon for our Planked Salmon Supper was provided by the company. Thank you for your generous discount.

Via Rail Canada – If you haven’t traveled on a train lately perhaps its time you did! Via Rail is “the more human way” to travel in Canada; and some lucky Seafest participant is going to travel to New Brunswick in style. Thank you Via Rail for your family pass!

QCCR Radio, Liverpool – Local promotion plays an important role in the success of Queens County Seafest and QCCR has always stepped up to the plate. The staff and radio personalities at QCCR have gone out of their way to promote the event with FREE advertising, interviews and live reports from the marina.

Eastlink – Eastlink is more than a cable company, it’s a community network! Thank you for helping us promote Seafest on Eastlink TV. Your support and airing of our great promotional video is much appreciated.

Okuma – Okuma fishing tackle is the ‘reel’ thing! You reelly can’t get much better! Fishermen at Seafest have been using Okuma products for years. We thank you for your generous product donations to our Shark Fishing Derby!

Winchester Disposal Services, Liverpool – Well, it’s not something we really like to talk about, but it’s important nevertheless! Thank you Garnet from all of us for making those hundreds of visitors to Seafest so ‘comfortable’. All of those extra hours behind the wheel are most appreciated.

The Picture House, Liverpool – Many of the photos on our website and the promotional video for Queens County Seafest are from the Picture House, a new visual media and production company in Queens County. Thank you Stephen for your generous support!
